BLEND ON BLEND

Danny and Luka - Blend DJ's Back in 1998, three mates in Manchester came up with a blend of music never heard before. It was sexy, it was mercurial – and most of all it was House.

Luka Banks, Danny Lagos and Beneecha Brown (R.I.P - musically anyway) laid down the tracks for a sound which rocked House and changed its face forever.

Love of music is the driving force behind Blend, and from the humble beginnings of bars Up North, they’ve been hitting the UK’s top night spots for nearly a decade (see forthcoming events for latest additions to the Blend story).

This rise is due in no small way to their friends at Funkatarium. Funkatarium gave Blend their first shot at stardom in 2003. They became residents at London’s best underground bi-monthly house night.

Since then Blend’s rise has been relentless.

They’ve built up a catalogue of residencies across the UK (a BIG thank you to Ricky @ RPM Magazine, Deek Martin @ Musika and Progression, and the Sean and Mike @ Sankeys) and, with regular special events across the country, don’t miss the experience.

In early 2007 Blend suffered a blow when Beneecha took a once-in-lifetime chance to travel the world. The loss of Blend’s unique combination of 3-way back-to-back was a real blow.

Luka and Danny needed to stand out once again. Live FX, 3 deck mixing and a wild collection of music has pushed Blend forward and 2007 has already been HUGE with debuts in Miami for RPM, at Club Class @ Ministry of Sound and the Tribal Sessions in Leeds – and these are just the highlights …

Experience the Blend phenomenon as you witness 2 Dj’s giving everything for the ultimate fulfillment – crowd satisfaction. The amount of energy brought to a Blend set has to be seen to be believed. Blend are not just DJ’s they are entertainers.

Now is the time for Blend to push themselves’ even further. As the bookings build the passion of the DJs creases. In the words of Danny Lagos;

"I think we can only be limited by ourselves and the amount of work we put in. We’ve proved now that we’ve got what it takes to make an impact on the club scene and that’s exactly what we want to do. The way we DJ together comes purely from the amount of fun we’re having.

The three of us were bored of going to clubs and seeing DJs with their heads down, paying no attention to the crowd who’d paid to see them. If the person behind the decks isn’t having a good time then why should the person on the dance floor? We will change that."

Dj’ing is their first love, you can see it in their style. It is something to behold, something to enjoy, and most importantly something to remember.
